#Vegtober – Going completely meatless for a month!

It’s the 1st of October today, and that means the start of my new concept: #Vegtober

//If you have followed me for a while, you’ll know that I’m very concerned with animal welfare, and the environment. Therefore, I choose to eat (mostly) vegetarian. I don’t label myself as anything, and I don’t restrict my diet, but I do eat vegetarian or vegan whenever I have the chance, which is most of the time (I might even go completely vegan one day, we’ll see)

I do this for the environment, for my conscience, and because I don’t think animals should suffer on my behalf.

That’s why, when Caroline challenged me to eat vegetarian every day through October – I immediately said yes.

Hurra for å redde planeten bittelittegrann!

//This month I’m going to step up my veggie eating game even further.

I’m going completely meatless, and I’m also going to try my best to avoid any animal products in my cooking altogether.

I’m also making this into a Youtube-video! I’m going to film my dinner every day so that I can show you what I’ll be eating all through October. I want to do this to illustrate what a student on a tight budget eats in London on a vegetarian diet.

Hurray to saving the environment a tiny little bit! And hurray to nurturing yourself without inflicting pain to sentient beings with a value <3

  1. I think especially nowadays it’s so much easier to find alternatives to meals that contain animal products, simply because there’s a wider variety of food and the internet is full of meatless recipes. Imagine if everyone would be a little bit more mindful about the meat industry, and cut down on it as much as possible? Part of me hopes you’ll make this meat-free month into a trend, I’m sure as hell signing up!

    1. That is so true! I’ve already kept up a mostly vegetarian lifestyle the past year, and I honestly find it so much easier than cooking with meat. I’m never going back, I’m only going even further! I wish everyone would realize that a meal can be delicious, nutritious and be filling without meat (or any animal products for that sake) Thanks for this lovely comment, and I’m so happy you’re joining the challenge!
